It was the female form personified in comics that first enticed Trish to transform her body. She came across a picture of Marla Duncan and seeing an actual person possessing the "ideal comic body" Trish thought, "I can do that!" and that’s how it all started. She looked into becoming involved in fitness.
She first began by returning to her gymnastics training. It was a natural progression for her as she had been involved in gymnastics when she was younger and was very athletic throughout her high school and university years. She played everything from field hockey on her varsity team to soccer. Trish began training on her own, which was going well until she met Scott Able who helped her progress to the next level.
Trish Stratus got her first big break while working at World Gym when she was asked by Scott Able - one of Canada ’s premier personal trainers - to do a modeling job for a supplement line. Scott was able to help her focus in on her training and diet, and that’s when she started to really see results. " Since I study Kinesiology, I know the theory but to actually practice it was quite amazing and that’s where Scott’s expertise came into play. "
Trish’s journey into the fitness world began when she was introduced to Bob Kennedy of MuscleMag International and was asked to do a test photo shoot. The photo shoot that was supposed to only be 30 minutes turned into three hours - his confidence and her potential was uncovered. Trish trained religiously and within 6 months the did her first location shoot with MuscleMag.
Since her introduction with Bob Kennedy she has had a feature article, has appeared in MuscleMag’s lingerie issue and is currently on the cover of the September Issue of MuscleMag. Trish also appeared in a Strong & Shapely feature in Women’s Physique World.
"It’s been great. It’s all happened so fast - one minute I’m one step away from post graduate school and the next thing you know I’m on the cover of an International Magazine!!!
I’ve spent the last few months traveling everywhere from Europe to all over the US & Canada doing store signings and various fitness conventions - and its overwhelming that all this has happened in such a short time."
She has also recently become involved in the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) and is a member of the Natural Team Canada . "This is a great honor for me, I believe the natural bodybuilding and fitness movement must gain more exposure and so that people are more aware that the sport is a healthy sport and is attainable for everyone."
